September of last year, I was the partial coordinator for Kristin and Matt's beach themed wedding at the Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotelin Ocean City, MD. The couple chose Ocean City as their wedding destination because Kristin has been going there ever since she could remember. The short, yet intimate ceremony was held on the beach facing towards the gorgeous ocean. There were a few young onlookers on the beach paying their undivided attention to the ceremony which I thought was too cute for words! Afterward, cocktail hour and the reception was held inside the Clarion Resort ballroom. The guests and I got to witness the coolest entrance. Kristin and Matt had their entire bridal party reenacting the dance scenes from the movie, Hitch. Some of my favorite memories from Kristin and Matt's wedding were the adorable beach chair seating charts and the awesome groom's cake.
Last night, I got a surprise text from Nicole of Nicole Chan Photographythat our collaboration on a Valentine's Day Style Shoot was featured inSouthern New England Weddings’Chatty Bride blog! I had so much fun organizing the details and styling the shoot. I also got to work with some of the greatest Beantownvendors. Thank you Chatty Brides for featuring us.
Nicole's description of the style shoot: "Indulge in soft romantic tones and whimsical elegance collide in a style shoot dedicated to the colors of Valentine's Day coordinated by Linda Lee of Lemon Drop Team Weddings , photographed by Boston-based wedding photographer Nicole Chan. The adorable palette emphasizes gentle pinks and grays rather bold traditional Valentine's reds. Even if it's a Hallmark holiday, there's something for everyone, even the guys! We've included a swanky cigar rolling station for the men in addition to our beloved sweets. Brace your sweet tooth because most won't be able to refuse the delicious gourmet marshmallows party favors and sweetheart candies featured in this inspiration."
Photographer, Nichole Chan, and I met through a mutual friend a couple month ago. My first impression of her was that I instantly liked her! She has so much passion for photography and can capture some killer photographs. Over the past weekend, we teamed up with a few other incredible Boston vendors to create a Valentine's Day style shoot. Here's a sneak peak of what we created for our lovely readers. Special thanks to our awesome vendors who were involved. You ladies have been so fanstastic to work with!
I would like to wish those who celebrate a very joyful and prosperous new year! Chinese New Year (often called Chinese Lunar New Year) falls on a different date each year and it's a 15 day celebration involving; fire crackers to scare away all evil spirits, handing out red envelopes "leisee" with money inside intended for lucky money and giving oranges and tangerines to families and friends as it symbolizes wealth and good fortune. One of my happiest childhood memories of Chinese New Year is watching my mother listen to her Chinese music and putting together a feast serving dishes that includes "the five blessings of the new year” for our family to enjoy.
The dates chosen for Chinese new Year are based on the lunar calendar and every year has its own corresponding animal from the Chinese zodiac, a cycle of 12 animals. 2011 is the year of the rabbit, which means this year is all about you and me since I'm a rabbit also! :) Your zodiac sign is the rabbit if you were born in the following years: 1903, 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023.
